Position Summary

The Director of Compliance has broad responsibility for overseeing multiple functions within the Compliance Department: conducting investigations, managing policies, managing vendors, supervising internal audit, maintaining compliance with applicable federal and state rules and regulations, and acting as a primary consultative resource for regulatory issues. This position directs compliance activities across all service lines and provides reporting to the Compliance Officer, senior leadership and the Compliance Committee.  The Director of Compliance is responsible for supporting all aspects of the compliance program. S/he contributes actively to the achievement of the Company’s Wildly Important Goals (WIG’s) and Compliance goals and objectives, adhering to the 4 Disciplines of Execution.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Supervise compliance training initiatives.
  • Create and provide compliance education materials and presentations.
  • Direct investigations of alleged violations of law, policies and procedures, and the company’s Code of Conduct in consultation with the Compliance Officer and General Counsel.  Administer appropriate corrective actions.
  • Oversee compliance policy management including development and/or revision.
  • Provide guidance to team members at all levels regarding the interpretation and application of compliance policies and matters raised by patients, colleagues, and other stakeholders either directly or via channels (e.g. Compliance Hotline, etc.).
  • Supervise internal audits to validate compliance to company policies as well as applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assess internal and external auditing and monitoring for trends and coordinate mitigation activities.
  • Prepare oral and written reports, including recommendations for improvement and corrective action plans.
  • Maintain an awareness of current laws, statutes, regulations, that impact healthcare clinical operations.
  • Assists with coordination of external audits.
  • Act as liaison with Compliance Department vendors.
  • Lead projects through to completions in furtherance of annual compliance work plan.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor degree. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years healthcare compliance and/or regulatory experience required (corporate, law firm, or government setting); post-acute care experience preferred.

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations

  • HCCA Compliance Certification (CHC or equivalent).
  • A valid driver's license and auto liability insurance.
