POSITION SUMMARY:

The Recruiter is responsible for modeling the 3 Company values of Compassion, Integrity, and Excellence, and for promoting the Hospice Compassus philosophy, using the 6 Pillars of success as the foundation. S/he is responsible for upholding the Code of Ethical Conduct and for promoting positive working relationships within the Program, between the Program and other Company departments, and between the Program and all external stakeholders. The Recruiter recruits, researches, interviews, screens internal and external applicants to fill current or expected job openings. S/he is responsible for applying the rules and regulations of state and federal regulatory agencies and other certified agencies.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Confers with management and supervisors to identify personnel needs, job specifications, job duties, qualifications, and skills.
  • Develops and maintains network of contacts to help identify and source qualified candidates.
  • Initiates contact with possibly qualified candidates for specific job openings
  • Reviews applications and interviews applicants to obtain work history, education, training, job skills, and salary requirements, and to provide information about the organization and position including job's duties/responsibilities, compensation, benefits programs, work schedule/conditions, career advancement opportunities, etc.
  • Conducts and scores, or arranges for, testing of applicants; records results and other relevant information.
  • Screens and refers candidates for additional interviews with others in organization.
  • Writes and places job advertising in various media.
  • Coordinates participation in, sets up display, and works at job fairs.
  • Develops and maintains contacts with schools, alumni groups, and other public organizations to find and attract applicants.
  • Makes public presentations at schools, organizations, and job fairs regarding the organization and opportunities.
  • Works with external recruiters and employment agencies to identify and recruit candidates.
  • Utilizes Internet online recruiting sources to identify and recruit candidates.
  • Provides information on company facilities and job opportunities to potential applicants.
  • Arranges travel and lodging for out-of-town applicants.
  • Performs reference and background checks on applicants.
  • Coordinates communications with applicants.
  • Prepares and extends offers; prepares and/or authorizes appropriate paperwork.
  • Files and maintains employment records for future references.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree; a minimum of two years recent experience in Human Resources where recruiting was an integral part of the position; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.


Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, colleagues, applicants, and the general public.


Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.


Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office software.


Other Qualifications

High professional standards regarding customer service and ethics. Must be able to travel. Must be high integrity, including maintenance of confidential information.  Knowledge of recruitment legal compliance areas.  Strong behavior interviewing, negotiating and closing skills.


Certifications, Licenses and Registrations

A valid driver’s license and auto liability insurance.


Other Skills and Abilities

Strong presentation skills and the ability to identify training needs. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Solid negotiation skills. Ability to understand, read, write and speak English.
